How it works

The image is drawn to a small canvas in your browser and its pixels are read directly — nothing is uploaded, it is free, and it works on any modern browser. A median-cut algorithm groups those pixels into the number of colours you ask for, ordered by how much of the image each one covers, and gives you each colour’s hex and RGB values to copy. Photographs with clear, distinct colours give the cleanest palettes.
